Welcome!

Song of the Morning is privileged to make our facilities available for private groups to hold their workshops and trainings at our yoga retreat. We truly value the relationships we have with presenters and the expertise they bring to Song of the Morning.  Presenters have the beautiful charge of drawing people to come stay at Song of the Morning who are looking for a structured and guided experience and we are grateful for the knowledge, skills and abilities you have to offer. As a nonprofit agency our fee scale is in place  to offset the administrative costs associated with retreats when there is low attendance or they are cancelled.

One Final Note – Our Culture of Respect

During his later years, Yogananda often spoke of creating World Brotherhood Colonies, centers where sincere seekers of diverse spiritual traditions would come together to live and work in friendship and deep mutual respect. Toward this end he asked Yogacharya Oliver Black to establish Song of the Morning as such a community. Our intention at Song of the Morning is to provide a welcoming, friendly environment to all who visit, regardless of their beliefs and practices. In return, we ask that presenters and guests extend a similar attitude of friendship and respect to others.

In order to assist your marketing efforts, we will list your program on our website and program guide as soon as your dates are confirmed. As the date of your program approaches, we will also post notices on our Facebook page and promote it in our monthly newsletter. Please click here for a full description of how we market retreats.

Program Descriptions
In 25-30 words give a description for our program guide. This should describe the program and how participants can expect to benefit.
In 100 words or less provide a slightly more developed description to be posted on our website. Your description should offer a compelling explanation of what you intend to offer and its benefits to participants.
Provide additional details that might answer questions that prospective participants may have when they call. This might include: Overall purpose of the program or retreat, target audience, level of experience, skill or fitness required, anticipated class size, what participants should bring, what the participants can expect to experience, anticipated benefits to program participants and other useful details.
Please include experiences and credentials that are relevant to this program. Content from this description will be used on our web page (150 words max). Please write in third person.
Participant Program Fee
In the event a retreat cancels or does not take place the $350 marketing and facilities deposit is nonrefundable. Deposit and payment plans can be arranged at the discretion of the Programs & Marketing Manager. Total revenues beyond $1000 are subject to the 65/35 split and will be paid to presenters after completion of the weekend. The retreat fee is determined by the presenter. Please consider the following scenarios in determining your fee. Scenario 1: Participants pay $100 for your retreat, 10 people attend, SOM receives $350 (essentially the deposit) and retreat host receives $650. Scenario 2: Participants pay $100, and 5 people sign up, SOM $350 and host receives $150. Scenario 3: Retreat host cancels; SOM keeps the nonrefundable marketing and facilities fee of $350. Scenario 4: Participants pay $100 per person and 15 people attend. Retreat host receives $975; SOM receives $525 (65/35 split). In determining your fee, note that participants who register 2 or more weeks in advance receive a 10% discount unless you explicitly opt out of this early bird incentive.
