Yoga Teacher Open House Application

Whatever you do, think about it until you are lost in that idea. Think, think, think and make plans....with infinite willpower, patience and intuition you can grow those idea-seeds of success.
— Paramahansa Yogananda

Have you ever considered hosting a retreat for your students but do not have the capacity to travel abroad or don’t know where to start? If so, consider bringing your students up to Song of the Morning (SOM).  We would like to offer you an opportunity to come and visit for free!

Song of the Morning is a Michigan nonprofit organization founded in 1970 by Yogacharya Oliver Black, at request of his teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda. Founded in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, our center teaches the science of Yoga and its practical applications so that all can achieve the highest levels of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being as they progress on their path toward Self-realization. Our vision is to serve our mission through three primary areas of operation: a retreat center, a residential community and educational programs.

We are inviting you to be a part of our mission fulfillment.  Please come and stay February 4-5 to experience all things SOM, for free.  During your visit you will have an opportunity to participate in meditation, tour our blessed grounds, hike our Shrine Trails, attend Sunday service, participate in karma yoga and eat delicious vegetarian food. We truly value what you have to offer and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and explore our 800 acres to see how hosting a retreat here would work with your yoga community.

Please join us at this open-house to learn about this sacred and energetically charged space.  After your stay here we hope you feel empowered to take your students to the next level of their spiritual journey. Please fill out the application below. There is limited space--apply soon.

Our community is excited to share this special place with you and we're looking forward to building a lasting partnership. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this exciting venture please do not hesitate to contact Erin Mann, Programs and Marketing Coordinator at or call 989.983.4107 and connect with Jennifer Saks, Retreat Manager or Erin.
