"Learn to still your restless mind."

Golden Lotus, Inc., a Michigan non-profit organization which owns and operates Song of the Morning, was founded in 1970 by J. Oliver Black. Song of the Morning Ranch is the result of Mr. Black’s desire to carry out the wishes of his Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, to establish a yoga retreat where the timeless science of yoga could be taught as a full and practical way of life. This annual, memorable retreat weekend celebrates the life and legacy of Song of the Morning founder, Yogacharya Oliver Black, and has also become an established time of reunion for staff and visitors from across the five decades of our development--and is also a warm and friendly weekend for those who are interested in what this intentional yoga community is all about.

Come and connect on a deeper level with this blessed retreat and the vision that Yogacharya imparted for all of us to continue creating now and for future generations to come. Walk the forest shrine trails, swim in the refreshing waters of the Pigeon River or nearby Pickerel Lake, practice hatha yoga, and best of all, meditate deeply among fellow seekers.  Simply come to be in the high vibrations of our beautiful spiritual retreat, celebrate the love we share for God, guru and one another, and celebrate the past, present and future of Song of the Morning.
