Join us this summer for our annual family-friendly “Spirit and Nature Festival” at Song of the Morning! This unique event features festive music, sacred kirtan, storytelling from our local indigenous community, daily hatha yoga, guided meditations, themed nature walks, children’s workshops and joyous fellowship under the sun and the stars! Come enjoy our cool and quiet mornings, vibrant forest, a purifying river to swim in, glorious wildflowers, delicious vegetarian meals and so much more. Don’t miss this extraordinary summer event in the pristine setting of Northern Michigan!

  • 2-5:00 p.m. ~ Arrival/Check In

    3:30-4:30 p.m. ~ Hatha Yoga led by GLYTA teacher Kaye Thomas-Hogan in the Main Tent for Early Arrivals

    5:00-6:30 p.m. ~ Vegetarian Dinner in the Dining Tent catered by The Harmony Collective

    6:30-7:45 p.m. ~ Opening Ceremony & Meditation in the Main Tent led by Naren K. Schreiner, Lopa Bose and Linda Gabby

    8:00-8:45 p.m. ~ World Music for Families with Guy Louis in the Main Tent 

    9-10:15 p.m. ~ An Evening with Singer-Songwriter Audra Kubat in the Main Tent

  • 8-9:15 a.m. ~ Morning Hatha Yoga led by GLYTA teacher Sunny Johnson-Lemieux in the Main Tent

    9-10 a.m. ~ Morning Meditation led by Song of the Morning in the Main Tent 

    10 a.m. - 9 p.m. ~ Silent Meditation and Chanting Open to All in the Wheelhouse

    9-10:30 a.m. ~ Kitcheri Breakfast in the Dining Area by Harmony Collective

    9:30-10:30 a.m. ~ Family-Friendly Songwriting Workshop with Audra Kubat in the Dining Area

    11:30 a.m.  - 1:30 p.m. ~ Nature Immersion Walks with Options:

    • Family Friendly Nature Walk with Naturalist Ivan Witt meet at the Main House

    • Reflective Nature Experiences Forest Walk with Carol & Bruce Malnor meet at the Lodge

    1:30 - 2:30 p.m. ~ Vegetarian Lunch with the Harmony Collective

    2:30 - 3:30 p.m. - Michigan Storytelling with Ron Fowler in the Main Tent

    9:30-11 p.m. ~ Sacred Campfire & Storytelling

  • 8-9 a.m. ~ Hatha Yoga led by GLYTA teacher Jess Thibodeau in the Main Tent

    9-10:30 a.m. ~ Kitcheri Breakfast Available in the Dining Area with the Harmony Collective 

    9-10 a.m. ~ Guided Meditation & Chanting in the Main Tent with Naren & Lopa
